Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine, recommended mastiha as an excellent aid for digestion. Roman emperors used it to spice wine. The fragrant ladies of the Turkish baths chewed mastiha for white teeth and fresh breath. Because of these remarkable properties, Mastiha became a precious commodity and travelled Chios to the edge of the known world. Why exclusively tothis island? It remains a mystery to this day.

Copperpot Nuts began as a garage start-up in rural Coldwater back in 2009. They created their own production facility and launched the brand right here near Coldwater, Ontario. They started with just three varieties of our favorite beer nuts, and they’ve since grown to offer a variety of delicious flavors in shop. All of their nuts are double roasted and packaged by hand in small batches. They source as many ingredients as they can from local producers.
